Dia de los Muertos
Every once in a while, Galeria Tonantzin features a special male artist. This year, we are featuring our own local Dia de los Muertos artist, Carlos Munoz from Hollister, California. Some of his skeletal figures celebrate the lives of celebrities who have passed on. This year some celebrities include: Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh as (Brett and Scarlet); Mona Lisa and much much more. His show goes through November 10. Please come to his artist reception on Saturday, October 20 from 5 - 7 p.m.
We are also staying open for the Rotary Ghost Tour on October 26 & 27 to 9 p.m. Be sure to make your reservation with the San Juan Bautista Rotary.
We will also be open November 3 to 7 p.m. to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Be sure to join El Teatro Campesino for their annual show and altar display.

Galeria Tonantzin Presents the 21st annual Images of the Virgin Exhibit

Madonna del Latte Groceries
by Lauren Bartone
We are creating the 21st annual exhibition of contemporary representations for the Virgin in her many manifestations across time and place including the ancient goddess Tonantzin, the Virgin of Guadalupe; what she means to you, the artist. This is an international exhibition with the goal of presenting many artistic visions from various cultural perspectives, both the reverent and the provocative, exploring contemporary re-examinations of the image of the Virgin.
This exhbiit is open to all women artists. You can download a prospectus by clicking here. 21st annual Images of the Virgin Prospectus
