Journey of Mothers by Dianne de Laet

Picture
March 2 - April 22, 2012 (Exhibit extended)
Artist Reception:  April 14      5 - 7 p.m.

This photographic journey walks you through the legendary “Trail of Tears” enhanced by organic sculptures of these same photographs. Sales of photographs will be donated by the artist to benefit THE ARETE FUND, an educational nonprofit organization.

The March 10 reception featured Poet Ryland Kelley as he told the birthday story of Lieutenant John G. Burnett. Father Martin added enjoyment to the evening on his Native American flute. Dianne de Laet, featured artist read from her “Song to the November Moon” in praise of a Native American hero of compassion.

On April 14, Galeria Tonantzin extends the March celebration of Women’s History Month and featured Dianne de Laet at the harp with a recitation and reading of her poetry in praise of women throughout history.

Garden Gallery: New Exhibit featuring Maria Boisvert

Picture
From her appreciation of the California landscape, to the people she has encountered abroad, Maria has successfully captured the beauty and culture that surrounds her.  Her works are in private and corporate collections throughout California and the East Coast. This exhibit's theme is from the Farm to the Table and runs from March 30 to April 29.

Galeria Tonantzin selected Maria Boisvert from a field of artists participating in last year's first annual Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association "Paint San Juan Bautista" for a one-woman art exhibit for 2012. The gallery is excited to present the second annual "Paint San Juan Bautista" this August.
